Solutions for REACH
The long-awaited EU REACH Regulation (EC)
No.1907/2006 was published on the 18th of December
2006—setting out new requirements for the control of
chemicals throughout the EU. While some provisions came into force on
June 1st 2007, the majority of the provisions were delayed until June
1st 2008, June 1st 2009, with a final provision to be implemented in
2018.
Atrion helps companies meet REACH Legislation requirements by providing
software and services that not only ensure product compliance but that
also enables the generation of rules-based regulatory documents by
leveraging Atrion’s Product
Compliance Solution.
At the core of Atrion’s Product
Compliance Solutions lies our regulatory compliance engine. As a
recognized valuable tool, within the formula-based process industry,
Atrion’s regulatory content engine includes functionalities
like the generation of a 'use based' extended REACH Safety Data Sheet
(SDS) in multiple languages
eliminating the need to re-enter the 'hazard' and 'exposure' profile of
every product.
With data
submission requirements of REACH and other legislative programs such as
OECD HPV, EU Biocides and others, IUCLID 5 will play a central role. To
ensure consistency between substance data submitted for registration
and information communicated in the supply chain on the REACH e-SDS,
Atrion’s bi-directional data exchange interface with IUCLID 5
“REACH Exchange” is available.
The lack of knowledge about whether or not your suppliers intend to
register the substances you depend on can have serious consequences on
your business. Can you count on your supplier to register? Will you
need to change your supplier? Will you need to change your formula?
Will you need to register your substances yourself? These are some of
the possible registration scenarios that could impact your
business. Understanding the intent of your supplier is
critical.
Additionally, communication with downstream users is also required to
identify how your product is used in order to develop and provide the
appropriate exposure scenarios.
REACHtracker™
enables companies to analyzes ‘supplier registration
intentions’ and ‘customer uses’ to
determine the effect REACH will have on their product line.
